Frequently Asked Questions
___
Q 1: I'm getting an ActiveX warning when I try to Create the report!
It says: "An ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page. Do you wish to allow this interaction?"
Ans: This is ok, do not panic! As you are selecting files on your local machine through a web browser, Internet Explorer gives you this message to help protect you against potentially the harmful scripts that exist on the Internet.
___
Q 2: Norton Antivirus (or other virus checker) is giving me a Malicious Script warning when I try to create the report!
Ans: Again, this is fine. It is another safeguard on your PC from potentially harmful Internet scripts. You should be able to Authorise The Script through Norton. This warning will occur every time you run this page with a new Browser session
___
Q 3: The Excel data has extra columns and incorrect formatting. What should I do?
Ans: Send the original .out file into AIB, along with the relevant Balance or Transaction File.
The section that will deal with your query is:
iBusiness Banking Support. Phone: 1890 422242. Email: ibbcustomersupport@aib.ie
___
Q 4: Nothing seems to happen when I press Create Report!
Ans: If you do not have a visible warning on the screen, there should be a yellow triangle visible in the lower left-hand corner of your browser. Click on this and note the Error Message. If the Error Message is "Path Not Found", check your C drive for an IBB directory. You must have an IBB directory for the Balance and Transaction Reports to be generated. If it is not "Path not Found", send a screenshot of the Error Message, along with the original .out file to AIB
___
Q 5: I accidentally said "No" to the ActiveX warning, and now nothing is happening!
Ans: If you said "No" to the alert box referenced in Q1, simply Refresh your browser (F5). This will fix it. If you did not authorise the script when the warning referenced in Q2 occurred, you will need to shut down the browser and reopen the page. This will allow you to re-authorise the script.
___
Q 6: I'm getting an warning when I try to Create the report!
It says: "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?"
Ans: This can sometimes occur with very large .out files( >2000 transactions), or with older computers. You must click "No" for the script to continue running. If you computer does become unresponsive, or if you get this message multiple times, send the .out file into AIB for investigation.
